This trip involves training healthcare providers (nurses and physicians) in pediatric skills at multiple hospitals in Rwanda. The team consists of pediatric and general emergency physicians from Brown University who will facilitate sessions focused on pediatric triage, resuscitation, and trauma care. Content from ETAT, PALS, and ATLS will be provided.
The pediatric skills sessions will be held at several district hospitals and one tertiary care hospital in Rwanda. The audience includes nurses and physicians at these facilities. At the tertiary care hospital, the intended audience includes trainees in Pediatric and Emergency Medicine Residency Programs. A total of 100 healthcare providers will receive instruction across 5 hospitals.
