During my global health trip to Zambia with Tiny Tim and Friends, a pediatric HIV clinic based in Lusaka, both the local community and the visiting healthcare workers were significantly impacted. Children and families affected by HIV received vital medical care, emotional support, and health education, improving their quality of life and access to consistent treatment. The clinic’s work helped reduce stigma and built trust within the community. For the visiting volunteers, including students and medical professionals, the experience was transformative—broadening their understanding of global health disparities, enhancing cultural competence, and deepening their commitment to serving vulnerable populations
