I will primarily be providing cleft lip and palate care
The children of Ghana and their families will benefit from this project. This is an underserved area with limited access to medical resources and surgical care.
The children and the families that we will be caring for will directly benefit from the care. Our team is almost exclusively composed of team members from Henry Ford St. John Hospital. We will benefit by collaborating and developing unity as a team, which I foresee will further improve our teamwork as we care for patient's once we return home. Through this experience we will be able to share with our health system, a large health system in southeast, Michigan the benefits of this humanitarian care.

In October of 2025 I had the pleasure to join Operation International's Team Michigan to complete a humanitarian medical mission at Holy Family Hospital in Techiman, Ghana. As a team of five surgeons, nursing staff, and anesthesia providers we performed 94 life changing procedure over 5 days. During this time I primarily performed cleft lip and cleft palate repair procedures. We met an incredibly dedicated and resilient home team from Holy Family Hospital. Their dedication to their community was inspiring. We bonded over a shared interest in helping care for our patients and developed friendships that will continue going forward!
