Education and humanitarianMission to Syria

April 6th
Damascus, Syria

Project Description

I plan to travel to Syria for two weeks in early April
I have done this mission once before, and it was received amazingly well
I teach the resident and the fellows, innovative state of the Art pulmonary and critical care procedures
I also conduct procedure and help needy areas with medical care outside the center of the city in the underserved medical areas around the outskirts of the city

Population Served

Under privileged patient would be my main goal
I will also prepare future doctors to be able to do more innovative medicine after my departure

Expected Impact

This will help patients who are in need for certain procedures, and cannot cannot afford it to undergo that free of charge
Also, after a few trips from myself and others, the future, junior doctors will be prepared hopefully to take over and not need outside help

Trip Photos & Recap

My trip was very fruitful for me, for the patients and for the learners
The local trainees have tremendous enthusiasm, but they lack resources of equipment and in certain areas knowledge.
We treated patients who are unfortunate because of the lack of resources and we made impact by adjusting their treatment plan and they were very thankful.
Also I educated the Pulmonary training about using equipment like a bronchoscopy, EBUS and POCUS ultrasound
It was a great experience predominantly for me.
Thank you for your support
