Education to the residents and providing institution with data related to nutritional status and outcomes in elderly populations admitted to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. The hope would be early identification and optimization of malnutrition in susceptible populations would lead to better outcomes
I had the privilege of working with the underserved population of Belize City. Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital was the safety net facility taking on complex cases and transfers from throughout the region. Our patient cohort was diverse reflecting the various ethnic groups of the country, and included both pediatric and geriatric patients. We provided ICU level care in addition to managing a busy medical ward service for the hospital.
