Learnings carry forward with me is the happy feeling that I got to serve, since my love language is acts of service. I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to serve and be a part of surgical volunteers international.

My heart is full after an incredible surgical mission in Hue, Vietnam with the Surgical Volunteers International (SVI) team.
During our mission, we screened 70 patients who traveled from across Vietnam. Together, we were honored to perform 51 life-changing surgeries to the underserved population, surgeries including cleft lip and cleft palate repairs, scar revisions, contracture releases, polydactyly and syndactyly corrections, inguinal hernia repairs, hypospadias repairs, and reconstruction for congenital ear anomalies.
Behind every procedure was a child, a family, and a story of hope. Seeing the smiles, tears of joy, and overwhelming gratitude from our patients and their families was a powerful reminder of why we do this work. Their resilience and trust inspired all of us.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve and to give back alongside such a compassionate and talented team. This experience has been both humbling and deeply rewarding, and I will carry these memories with me for a lifetime.
A special thank you to Doximity for supporting me and making it possible for me to join this mission. Your generosity helped bring life-changing surgical care to children and families who needed it most.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, encouraged us, and supported this mission. Together, we were able to make a meaningful difference—one patient, one family, and one smile at a time.
