I plan to administer anesthesia for surgical operations and provide preoperative clearance and peri operative care for patients. I am a board certified anesthesiologist who speaks conversational Spanish. I hope to establish trust with patients and their families and provide exceptional care. I have treated a wide array of patients of various ages with various comorbidities. I hope to assist the surgeons in gifting patients with great outcomes.
I will benefit, but patients will also benefit. From my understanding, this pediatric population needs these services and have lower access to care. I am excited to bridge the gap and help give them necessary operations.
The impact will be learning a different system for anesthetic delivery. Due to locums experience, I am accustomed to delivering anesthesia in both resource-rich and resource-scarce environment. I hope to be able to inspire other anesthesia providers to give their time and resources to patients in need, globally.

I understand that I was a part of providing free care for in need children in Guatemala; however, the children and their families provided me with so much more. This is by far one of the most rewarding clinical experiences that I have had. The patients and their families were so kind and grateful - in a way that I had not widely experienced as a physician in my practice back home. During a postoperative visit, a teenage patient shared that her facial surgery restored her confidence. Another young boy was proud after his toe amputation, and his father was happy that our team was able to restore his future ability to walk. There were so many hugs and blessings exchanged.
