Resurge has a long term commitment to the region and has helped train local doctors and nurse in advanced techniques
Doximity was generous in support of the recent Resurge International trip to Itigi, Tanzania. The hospital was St. Gaspar Regional Hospital. A team of 9 doctors, nurses and therapists went to itigi, Tanzania. We worked with the doctors and staff there to share ideas and operate on many patients with a variety of issues. During this trip we helped with cleft lip and palate patients both primary and secondary revisions. Also, we helped with cases of scar contractures and burn injuries. We have been partnering with this hospital for ten years and have seen great advances in the care they are able to deliver. Itigi is a isolated and remote city, the patients often travel large distances to get there, at great cost and effort. Attached are a few photos of the cases.
