Providing anesthesia services, specifically for those in need of ENT and general surgeries
Patients (adults & pediatrics) in rural and underserved regions of Zambia who have limited access to safe, timely surgical and anesthesia care. These patients live in areas where access to adequately resourced surgical facilities is limited and are often economically disadvantaged. By targeting these patients, the mission aims to address critical gaps in perioperative care and improve access for those most vulnerable.
This mission will improve access to safe anesthesia and surgical care for underserved populations by supporting ENT and general procedures that may otherwise be delayed or unavailable. It will help reduce surgical backlogs and improve patient outcomes. Additionally, collaboration with local providers will promote knowledge sharing, strengthen perioperative practices, and support sustainable improvements in anesthesia and surgical care beyond the duration of the mission.

Dear Doximity Team,
Thank you for your generous grant support, which helped make my recent medical mission trip to Zambia possible. Your contribution toward my travel expenses allowed me to join a team dedicated to providing surgical and anesthesia care to patients who otherwise have limited access to these services.
One of the most impactful experiences from this mission was witnessing individuals from different cultures come together with a shared purpose. As the week progressed, we developed a deeper understanding of one another's intentions and perspectives, which strengthened our working relationships and created a more collaborative environment. It was a powerful reminder that when people unite around a common goal of serving others, meaningful change can happen.
This experience reinforced the importance of compassion, adaptability, and teamwork in global healthcare. It also reminded me that the willingness to serve can have a profound impact, not only on patients but also on those providing care. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute my skills while learning from colleagues and the local healthcare team.
Thank you again for investing in healthcare professionals who are committed to serving communities in need around the world. Your support played a direct role in making this mission possible, and I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity and experience.
