This is a humanitarian volunteer trip to Tanzania offering free surgeries to the local people who may not otherwise may not be able to have the surgery.
I am joining the team as a student registered nurse anesthetist.
The population that we will be serving is the community of Mayara, Tanzania. We will be serving patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adults and geriatric patients.
The expected impact will be making a difference in the lives of the people of Mayara with life changing surgeries. The learnings will carry forward via the knowledge exchange with Tanzanian nurse anesthetists. We will also be improving the health of the community as well.
