Trip Photos & Recap

In June 2026, our mission team performed 12 life-saving heart surgeries in Guyana. Thanks to Doximity Foundation's generous support in providing transportation for some of our volunteer team, we were able to bring advanced cardiac surgical care to patients who otherwise would not have had access to these procedures.

The surgeries included coronary artery bypass operations, complex valve repairs and replacements, and the correction of a congenital heart defect. Most patients were walking within 24 hours of surgery and were able to return home within five days. Their remarkable recoveries were made possible through the dedication of our volunteer mission team working alongside the outstanding nursing staff and healthcare professionals in Guyana.

For many of these individuals, this surgery represented years of hope finally realized. Several patients had been waiting for this opportunity for many years, as open-heart surgery is not otherwise available in Guyana. Thanks to the generosity of donors like Doximity, these patients have been given not only successful operations, but also the chance to return to their families with renewed health, hope, and a brighter future.
