I will be providing anesthesia for a variety of surgeries for the local population in Quito Ecuador.
The local population in Quito Ecuador will benefit as this is a volunteer mission.
The learnings will impact me on future missions as well as in my practice at home. Every interaction and experience teaches me something I carry on in my practice.

I'll never take for granted the trust patients have in me especially when I don't speak their language. It's such an honor to be able to care for them.
I am a Nurse Anesthetist and was able to spend time with our patients throughout pre-op, intra-op and post-op. The excitement they had about finally getting surgeries they have been waiting years for was incredibly meaningful.
We did over 55 gynecological surgeries for women struggling with access to care and financial constraints. The women we treated had chronic pain, heavy bleeding, fibroids and other gynecologic issues that impacted their quality of life every day. They expressed their excitement in healing and living a healthier life after their surgeries.
